Rabbi (also spelled Rabi) is the everyday date of Saravan in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan province, just across the border from Pakistan's Balochistan. The fruit is long, dark brown to nearly black and semi-dry, with a thin skin, a small stone and a mellow sweetness that does not overpower. It is widely traded into Pakistan and is one of the most familiar dates in the bazaars of Quetta, Turbat and Karachi.

Rabbi is the natural choice for families who eat dates every day: at sehri, to open the fast at iftar, in children's lunchboxes and as a winter snack with chai. The 5 kg carton is popular with larger households, mosques and anyone hosting iftar for guests through Ramadan, and it keeps well in a cool store room.

Why you'll love it

  • Traditional Saravan date loved across Balochistan and Sindh
  • Semi-dry texture: less sticky, easy to store and share
  • Honest everyday price, especially in the 5 kg carton
  • Naturally sweet with no added sugar

Storage & use

  • Keep in a cool, dry place in an airtight container
  • Refrigerate in hot weather to keep the texture soft
